Brush Pile Chipping

Turn a pile into chips, on your property

A heap of limbs and clean woody brush can build up behind a barn, along a fence, or after a lot was cleared. On-site chipping reduces the pile's volume, and you decide whether the chips stay or go.

All piles use the same $200 hourly rate with a one-hour minimum. Tangled, loose piles take longer than neatly stacked ones, so preparation can affect job duration.

$200 PER HOUR — ONE-HOUR MINIMUM

First hour: $200 minimum. Minimum service charge: $200. Additional time is billed at the same $200 hourly rate. Final charges and any applicable additional fees must be explained before work begins.

Who this is for

  • Acreage and rural owners

Piles that have grown for years and are too large to burn or haul.

  • Homeowners after clearing

Overgrown yards, fence lines, and wooded lots.

  • HOA and property managers

Common-area cleanup where burning is not allowed.

What qualifies

  • Mixed limbs and brush
  • Hedge and shrub trimmings
  • Bamboo cut into manageable lengths
  • Pruning waste
  • Small trees cut from clearing

Limits to know

  • Dirt-heavy or root-ball material is not accepted.
  • Thick vines wrap the feed rollers and may need to be removed first.
  • Piles mixed with trash, wire, or lumber must be sorted before chipping.
  • Brush that has been rotting for years can be mostly soil and may not chip cleanly.

How big a pile can we handle

  • Small, medium, and large piles are all chipped on site with the same Morbark BVR13.
  • Large piles may take multiple hours and several dump trailer loads if hauling.
  • Rated up to 13 inches, subject to operating conditions and material.

How to prepare

  • Pile with the butt ends facing one direction so material feeds straight in.
  • Separate trash, wire, and treated lumber into their own stack.
  • Cut anything longer than about 10 feet if it is heavily branched.
  • Clear a path wide enough for a truck and trailer to reach the pile.
