Tree Branch Chipping

Limbs and trunks down to chips

When a tree comes down or gets trimmed, the branches are the bulk of the mess. We chip limbs on site so you are not left with a stack of wood to burn, haul, or wait on.

This page is for fresh-cut tree limbs and branch wood, which behave differently from mixed brush. Diameter, length, and how branched the wood is affect the time required. The hourly rate stays the same.

$200 PER HOUR — ONE-HOUR MINIMUM

First hour: $200 minimum. Minimum service charge: $200. Additional time is billed at the same $200 hourly rate. Final charges and any applicable additional fees must be explained before work begins.

Who this is for

  • Homeowners with a recent trim or removal

Limbs from a tree service that did not chip, or from your own work.

  • Arborists and small tree crews

Overflow chipping when your machine is busy or down.

  • Landowners

Windbreak, fence-row, and pasture trees cut down for clearing.

What qualifies

  • Fresh-cut tree limbs
  • Trimmed branches of all sizes within the rated capacity
  • Small trunks cut to manageable lengths
  • Pine, oak, maple, and other common Georgia trees

Limits to know

  • Up-to-13-inch rated capacity, subject to operating conditions and the material. Large forked or knotty hardwood may be refused or need to be cut smaller.
  • Trunks and root flares near soil are not chipped.
  • Stumps and root balls are not accepted.
  • Wood that is dried out, rotten, or full of embedded metal or fencing may not be chipped.

Diameter and the BVR13

  • The Morbark BVR13 is rated for material up to 13 inches in diameter.
  • Rating depends on operating conditions and what is being processed. Straight, clean hardwood differs from knotty or forked pieces.
  • Tell us the thickest piece on site and we will say whether it is a fit.

How to prepare

  • Cut trunks and long limbs into lengths that two people can lift.
  • Keep large and small branches in separate stacks if possible.
  • Remove nails, wire, rope, and fencing from the wood.
  • Keep the stack out of the dirt so the chipper does not pick up soil.

Tree branch pricing

Tree branch chipping is $200 per hour with a one-hour minimum. Minimum service charge: $200. Larger-diameter wood and difficult access can affect job duration, not the hourly rate.

Additional time is billed at the same $200 hourly rate. Final charges and any applicable additional fees, including any arranged haul-away, must be explained before work begins.

Questions

Maybe. 13 inches is the rated capacity, not a promise for every piece. Send the diameter, species, and condition.

Fresh green wood generally chips more cleanly than old dry or rotten wood, but each job depends on the material.
